More than just a wholesaler, Mericq is a passionate and expert supplier of lobsters, brown crabs, spider crabs and langoustines. Fishing, carried out by our fleet of potting vessels based in Brittany, is the very first step. Advocates of selective and environmentally responsible fishing, we operate the very last fleet of this kind in France. Close to the landing ports, from South Brittany to North Brittany, our sites are located at the heart of France’s leading artisanal fishing region, offering a unique diversity of shellfish.
Sourcing across Europe, following the movements of resources and the distribution of fishing efforts, allows us to replenish our shellfish tanks (brown crabs, lobsters, langoustines, spider crabs …) and to position Mericq as the link between shellfish-rich Northern Europe and shellfish-consuming Southern Europe.
From Ireland…
Our teams travel through the bays and fishing villages all over Ireland to collect live shellfish (lobsters, brown crabs, langoustines …). These products are the result of work that sustains entire communities.

Our pots, tanks, and other tools allow us to handle all types of live shellfish—from the hardiest (lobsters, langoustines, brown crabs) to the most delicate, such as spider crabs or Dublin Bay prawns.

Our cooking workshops are equipped with tools to select shellfish for boiling in seawater, providing an additional service to our clients .
