40 years of experience

Since 1977, the Breizon teams have developed strong ties with local Gaelic fishing communities and built a network of collectors sourcing directly from Irish fishermen to procure lobster, brown crab, langoustine, and Atlantic shrimp.
Breizon has scaled its operations to offer an unparalleled product range: live, fresh, frozen, freshly cooked, cooked-frozen, pasteurized, and value-added products.

A historic collection network

Over the years, we’ve built loyalty with more than 200 fishermen along the Irish coast, including around twenty boats that fish exclusively for Breizon.
Our logistics network and daily collection system ensure a wide variety of products, along with unmatched flexibility and responsiveness, adapting to landing sites and fishing rhythms.

Our unique facility, built right on the shoreline, allows local fishermen to land their catch directly on our docks.

This allows us to feed our live tanks and offer premium-quality products with unmatched consistency and reliability.

Daily collection of lobster, brown crab, langoustine, and Atlantic shrimp also gives us access to niche, onboard-frozen products like monkfish and langoustine.

It’s a full sourcing expertise, built over years of sharing and collaboration, that we place at the service of our clients.

Pioneers of the first trap for Atlantic shrimp fishing

In the 1980s, the Trahan family, founders of the company, introduced a revolutionary innovation in the region by developing shrimp fishing in the previously untouched waters of Galway Bay.
Breizon pioneered the use of traps in Ireland and became the exclusive distributor of French-made traps featuring cutting-edge technology.
Founders Bernard, Loïc, and Guénaël built a loyal network of fishermen by supplying them with traps to fish Atlantic shrimp.

Atlantic shrimp fishing

As early as the 1980s, Breizon innovated in Ireland by developing the fishing of Atlantic shrimp in Galway Bay, an area previously unfished.
Our teams created a specific type of trap, manufactured exclusively for this purpose, allowing Breizon to retain its network of fishermen by equipping them directly.

Processing operations

Over the years, Breizon has expanded its freezing and cooking capabilities to offer Irish crustaceans in every form, with an exceptional depth of range.

To ensure the highest levels of freshness and quality, products are processed immediately after collection made possible by the proximity of our facilities to the landing sites.

This know-how allows us to work with the product at its optimal flesh yield and ensure year-round availability to our clients.
Our product line, sold under the brand  “Window to the Sea” , is renowned for its unrivaled quality and has received multiple awards in both Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Live-tank truck fleet

Thanks to our fleet of live-tank trucks, we also import crustaceans from Northern Europe and export to clients in Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
